Surfer's Music
The Beach Boys were an American rock band who were founded in the 1960's in Hawthorne, California. The band originally consisted of five brothers Brian, Dennis and Carl Wilson, with their cousin Mike Love and a close friend, Al Jardine. The American band was managed by the Wilson brothers' father Murry and made them the popular group they were and still are today. The Beach Boys collaborated with Capitol Records and signed a contract with them in 1962. Their music consisted of sharp vocal harmonies and lyrics that reflected the Southern California's young culture which included surfing, cars and love. In the mid 60's the Wilson's creativity grew and Brian Wilson's ambition with songwriting dominated the band's musical direction. One of the best and well known songs, "Good Vibrations" composed by Brian Wilson and released with the album Pet Sounds.From 1967, Brian Wilson had to take over the Beach Boys and take control beacuse of the drug abuse and mental health issues from the band memebers and with his guidance, the Beach Boys gained various music styles in a string of albums. During this time, they gained popularity all over the world and was internationally and commercially successful.
